Derrick E. Brown, Sr, is an advocate for young people. The founder of the D. Brown Foundation is a dynamic motivational speaker. He speaks to high school students about preparing for college, NCAA Eligibility Requirements, and the realities of playing collegiate sports.
Mr. Brown is living proof that there is life beyond sports. He played varsity football, basketball, and baseball for three years, he went on to play football at Winston-Salem State University after college he went on to coach Football, Basketball, and Baseball at some of the top high schools in the country such as Sidwell Friends, Gonzaga, and McNamara. He brings twenty years of experience as a sports agent, five years as a Liaison for the NCAA, and an NCAA Clearinghouse Specialist. In other capacities, Mr. Brown served as an SAT Coordinator, College Placement Advisor, and Financial Aid Specialist for over 15 years. The D. Brown Foundation has used all of its resources and contacts to help young people achieve their dream of higher education.
In 2022 Mr. Brown recieved “The Hero Award” for outstanding work with Scholars and Athletes given by “The Center for Racial Equity and Justice”
